2012 Dirty Dozen +

The Environmental Working Group (EWG) has just released the 2012 Dirty Dozen list.  This year there's a + because a couple of items have been added because of pesticide concerns.
EWG's new Shopper's Guide to the Dirty Dozen will help you know which produce items have the most pesticide risk so you can try to choose organic.
According to EWG -
This year we have expanded the Dirty Dozen with a Plus category to highlight two crops -- green beans and leafy greens, meaning, kale and collard greens - that did not meet traditional Dirty Dozen criteria but were commonly contaminated with highly toxic organophosphate insecticides. These insecticides are toxic to the nervous system and have been largely removed from agriculture over the past decade. But they are not banned and still show up on some food crops.
Commodity crop corn used for animal feed and biofuels is almost all produced with genetically modified (GMO) seeds, as is some sweet corn sold for human consumption. Since GMO sweet corn is not labeled as such in US stores, EWG advises those who have concerns about GMOs to buy organic sweet corn.
The Clean Fifteen is also included.

J & J Mesh Bows Out of Mesh BIZ

If you are experiencing problems because of mesh please consider
looking  to our colleague, Linda Kilpatrick, for more information and support,

Johnson & Johnson is stopping sales of surgical mesh products that aimed to relieve the intense pelvic pain of thousands of women but resulted in numerous reports of injury and several deaths.
The decision is the latest action by the health care giant tackling a range of problem products -- such as bottles of children's Tylenol and other popular over-the-counter medicines, as well as some contact lenses and certain hip implants -- that the company recalled due to manufacturing problems.
The surgical meshes, sold by J&J's Ethicon unit, are among a class of products made by various companies whose safety and effectiveness the Food and Drug Administration warned about in 2008. J&J's meshes are also subject to hundreds of product-liability lawsuits, according to a May securities filing by the company.
The company is planning to halt sales world-wide of Gynecare TVT Secur, Gynecare Prosima, Gynecare Prolift and Gynecare Prolift+M mesh products, an Ethicon spokesman said. The company has asked the FDA to allow it to keep selling its Gynecare Gynemesh product, but for insertion through the abdomen only, rather than the vagina as is also currently allowed, the spokesman said.
J&J will be stopping sales over the next three to nine months, with the goal of completing the process by the first quarter of 2013, the company spokesman said.
"This is not a product recall and we continue to have confidence in the safety and efficacy of these products. Our decision to discontinue these products is based on their commercial viability in light of changing market dynamics, and is not related to safety or efficacy," the Ethicon spokesman said in a statement.
The FDA didn't have an immediate comment.
Doctors began using surgical meshes in the 1970s to treat severe cases of a painful condition in which organs like the bladder, uterus or bowel drop down and protrude into a woman's vagina after childbirth. Initially, doctors inserted the meshes through the abdomen to support the organs. In the 1990s, gynecologists began inserting them through the vagina.
Between 2008 and 2010, the FDA received some 1,500 reports of adverse events for meshes made by J&J and other companies. In 2008, the FDA warned about complications including erosion, pain and urinary problems.

USDA Deregulates GMO Sugar Beets

On Friday, June 1, 2012, the Animal Plant and Health Inspection Service (APHIS) of the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) announced that it has completed the final assessment of Monsanto’s genetically engineered sugar beets that were modified to withstand continued applications of the Monsanto’s flagship herbicide, Roundup.  Since every application for deregulation of a genetically engineered crop has so far beenapproved, it surprised no one when the agency again recommended a complete deregulation.
APHIS prepared two assessments — an environmental impact statement and a plant pest risk assessment.  Both assessments were made pursuant to court orders after a lengthy legal battle with the USDA by concerned consumer and environmental groups.
The initial lawsuit, filed in January 2008, was in response to the agency’s decision to deregulate genetically engineered sugar beets. In September 2009, the district court ordered the agency to conduct a full environmental impact study. The following year, in August 2010, the same court set aside the agency’s initial deregulation decision of GE sugar beets.
The USDA’s response to the court’s August 2010 ruling was to grant industry members temporary permits that allowed continued planting of GE sugar beets, forcing environmental groups back into count to challenge the agency conduct. The district court ruled that seedlings planted pursuant to the permits must be destroyed. An Appellate Court, however,  overturned that decision in February 2011. That same month APHIS announced that it will grant Monsanto’s request for a partial deregulation allowing planting of GE sugar beets with certain limitations until the agency conducts the court-ordered assessments.
George Kimbrell, Senior Attorney with the Center for Food Safety (CFS), one of the plaintiffs in the case, told me that CFS was “disappointed” with the agency’s decision and that CFS is reviewing the 800-plus page assessments to determine if any action is warranted.  SOURCE

The time, it is forever changing

Kedar N. Prasad, PhD
This time the change may be back to the past, and to tell you the truth it really annoys me.

Not that it is a personal annoyance, its more like one huge road block put in your path  because other people's ignorance can really harm your health.

I think it is strange in a Jim Morrison kind of way that some get turned into celebrities by the media  not really based on out come but because they are on TV or they get interviewed by someone else in the TV spotlight.

Just because someone is on TV really does not mean they are an expert in what they plie on their show. Remember that every show has sponsors and producers.  If the recommend something it does not really mean it is effective or effective for you.  All it is is mass marketing.  And where are you when that suggestion fails you?

Its also like aggregator web sites.  They fill their pages with info taken from other sources, make it look as if this was original material, and never give you and thing to assure you it might be bogus while trying to make it look like the latest hot new discovery or cure.

Thinking of something Dannion Brinkley said not too long ago about how he believes that the it is through healthcare that the globalists will find the key to controlling the world.

If you accept Dannion's premise then it won't surprise you when I suggest how crazy it is to find too loud Jillian Michaels on "Everyday Health" as one of their 'talking heads'.

And to me it is even crazier to think she has an interview with David Agus MD about cancer.

Now mind you, I do have to agree with him on the failure of the establishment on the issue of prevention.
Agus states:  " ... we can win the war on cancer — but not the way we’re fighting it now.“We’ve made almost no impact on making people live longer with cancer,” he says in an interview ... noting that the death rate is down only 8 percent over the past six decades.Part of the problem, ..., is the way we think about the disease. “Instead of just trying to shrink the cancer, which buys a little bit of time, I want to change the entire state of your body. But I know, as a cancer doctor, I’m not that good. And I know that I lose two or three patients a week — and I don’t want to do that anymore.”The solution, he explains, is not to treat the disease but to stop it from happening in the first place. “Most cancers are preventable. We’ve got to take aggressive stances in that regard.”He goes on to tell you however, to ditch your vitamins and get your nutrients from food.
And this is where we part ways.  The parting is of course because clearly Agus has failed to do the research that proves, even if it is organic, the nutrient level in food has diminished over the years.  It  is worse for products grown in commercial agriculture.

I of course support organic and buying local but I also know that not everyone can afford this.  And so what does Agus offer you if you fall in the less affluent part of our culture?

Not much.

But our Food Cleansing Healthy Handout does and it is an inexpensive way to make food healthier.

And being that we believe in supplements, the correct choices of supplements so that it isn't a one size fits all, but a targeted approach to regaining your health.  The science on supplements supports my position, even for cancer.  Maybe something will change some day for Agus and he will see the light.

Let's hope, and work to prove Dannion wrong.

Don’t Let Your Life Hanging Died Because of Cocaine

Cocaine causes an effect similar to amphetamine but much more powerful. Cocaine found in dosage forms by mouth (swallowed), as the powder is inhaled through the nose (snorted) or injected directly into a vein (mainlining). When boiled with sodium bicarbonate, cocaine is converted into the free form and called as fractional cocaine (crack cocaine), which can be smoked. Fractions cocaine works as fast as cocaine injected intravenously. Cocaine is one drug that can cause severe addiction. The use of cocaine can be done with smoke, sniff or injected directly into the blood. Cocaine causes an extraordinary alertness, euphoria (ecstasy) and the extraordinary power if injected intravenously or inhaled. Cocaine increases blood pressure and heart rate and can cause heart attacks, even in healthy young athletes.

Another effect is constipation, indigestion, excessive nervousness, a feeling that something is moving under the skin (cocaine bugs), which probably is a sign of nerve damage, seizures, hallucinations, delusions of paranoia, violent behavior. Strong effects of cocaine opium forcing users to use these drugs repeatedly. When smoked cocaine desire is not fulfilled, addicts typically will experience withdrawal symptoms (withdrawal effects or sakau). Addicts could endanger themselves or others. Effects of cocaine only lasts*for 30 minutes, therefore addicts repeated to use anymore. To reduce the nervousness caused by cocaine, many addicts who also use heroin or other depressant drugs (eg alcohol). Cocaine is a drug whose effects are very short, so it may not need treatment for cocaine poisoning reaction.

Drug withdrawal symptoms due to long-term use of cocaine requires a watchful eye, because addicts can get depressed and have a desire to commit suicide. Sometimes psychic disorder that often occurs in cocaine addicts (depression and manic-depression), treated with antidepressants. Maybe addicts should be treated in a hospital or rehabilitation center.
Cocaine rehab center could be the best drug rehab center to handling cocaine addicts.

Atrial Fibrillation Treatment

Have you ever felt your heart pounding without any reason? How about unusual throbbing in your neck accompanied by palpitations and rapid pulse? Or being awoken in the dead of the night with your heart racing like horses? If your heart's sending these abnormal cues, you must not delay setting an appointment with your healthcare provider. Perhaps, you are experiencing Atrial Fibrillation.

This cardiac disorder is the most common heart rhythm disorder diagnosed by doctors every day. The irregular heart rhythm results from the disorganized impulse conduction within the heart's electrical system. Without prompt and appropriate Atrial Fibrillation Treatment, this abnormal heart condition may lead to stroke.

Currently, there are over 2.2 million Americans suffering from this heart condition and still millions who may not feel any symptom at all. The sheer number of diagnosed cases certainly makes it a major public health concern today. But what makes it even more alarming is the fact that Atrial Fibrillation Treatment is relatively expensive.

Generally, the disease can either be an acute or a chronic condition. The acute form may be a result of surgery, alcohol intake, metabolic disorders, heart attack or lung disease. It can also be caused by long-term conditions such as diabetes, heart failure, high blood pressure and obesity.

In order to normalize these erratic heart contractions, proper Atrial Fibrillation Treatment must be employed. There are actually different approaches that can be done with regards to reverting heart rhythm. Basically, healthcare practitioners will recommend the best treatment option depending on the overall condition of the client, as well as, whether it is chronic or occasional.

The first level of treatment is often achieved through medication therapy. These cardiac drugs, called antiarrhythmic agents, control the heart rate and heart rhythm. Their chemical composition tames the electrical impulses generated within the heart. Although the majority of patients respond to medication regimen, there are stubborn cases where medication tends to be ineffective. In such cases, more aggressive Atrial Fibrillation Treatment approaches may be necessary. Advanced treatments include cardioversion, ablation therapy, and heart surgeries, either minimally-invasive or open-heart procedure. Without these treatments, the possibility of stroke or death increases tremendously.

It may sound cliché, but nothing beats prevention. In fact, it remains as the best Atrial Fibrillation Treatment. Avoiding alcohol is important, especially, if it triggers abnormal heart contractions. You may also need to cut your intake of caffeinated beverages as they have also been related to Atrial Fibrillation.

Finally, give your heart a favor by living a healthy life. Be more active. Choose healthy foods and keep away from stress. Maintain your positive outlook in life and enjoy every day. A happy and content heart is the secret in warding off cardiac disorders.
