The Big Celebrity Detox has reportedly left one contestant "traumatised" ahead of it airing on E4. Channel 4's sister channel will air the series, which stars ITV I'm A Celebrity star Kerry Katona and BBC Homes Under the Hammer star Martin Roberts.
Love Island's Toby, Love Island star Megan Barton Hanson and Princess Olga are also appearing. In shocking scenes set to air as part of the extreme show, Kerry and Martin are forced to drink their own urine in a bid to boost “focus and energy”.
A source said: “This will go down as one of the most nauseating scenes ever on TV. It’s horrendous, an uncomfortable moment for the celebs, but also for viewers. Kerry was particularly traumatised.” The show starts on Monday.
Princess Olga said of drinking her own wee: “It wasn’t as bad as I thought. I drink a lot of water, so it was very pale and didn’t have an odour or a particular taste.”
The eight-part series kicks off on Monday, from 9pm, on E4. The synopsis reads: "Eight famous faces live together at a retreat and undergo some of the most outlandish health and self-improvement exercises to help them change their lives.
"Spiritual guide Sah D'Simone takes Kerry Katona, Megan Barton Hanson, David Potts, Michael Venom Page, Princess Olga Romanov, Toby Aromolaran, Chloe Veitch and Martin Roberts through the first eight stages of enlightenment in the peace and tranquillity of rural Yorkshire."
Talking about the show, Channel 4 representative Genna Gibson said: "E4 has never seen a show like this before and it will test our celebrities like they’ve never been tested before – but also take them on a journey they’ll hopefully remember for the rest of their lives."
